| What is the Gould Gallery? |
The Gould Gallery provides a showcase of photos for the family and friends of Neil & Helen Gould of Sydney, Australia.
Others are welcome to browse the site if they wish.
- All users can send e-cards, search for specific photos and add photos to My Favourites
- Registered users can login and rate photos and add comments.
- Some albums may be marked as private and these can only be viewed by particular registered users.

| Viewing pictures |
- From the Gould Gallery home page select the category of interest (eg. Travel, Family) - you will then go to an album index for that category.
- Select the album of interest by clicking on its name or thumbnail - you will then go to the photo index for that album. If there are more than 20 photos in the album tabs will appear at the bottom right for the additional index pages - click on these tabs to view other index pages for that album.
- Select any picture by clicking on its thumbnail - the large photo displays with navigation bar above. Use the icons on the navigation bar to move back (
 ) or forward ( ) through the photos and read the titles & descriptions below or begin a slideshow ( ) to change photos every 5 seconds. (There are no titles or descriptions shown during a slideshow but you can stop the slideshow on any photo to view these.)
You can also use the navigation bar icons for returning to the photo index ( ) for the album you are viewing, showing/hiding photo information ( ) below the photo or sending an e-card ( ) to someone.
- Use the breadcrumb links in the black line above the navigation bar to return to the photo index for the album you are viewing, album index for the category you are in or the Gould Gallery Home page.
Use the Help sections below to find out more about rating a photo, adding a comment about a photo, making a photo a favourite and searching for a specific photo.

| What software does the Gould Gallery use? |
Coppermine was used to set up this site. It is a great free multimedia gallery program with many features that can be tailored to meet different needs. The Gould Gallery uses only some of these features at this stage but may use others in the future.

| Register |
To create comments, rate photos or view private albums you need to register with the Gould Gallery.
Registration involves agreeing with the Terms and Conditions of use, entering a username, password and email address as well as some optional information, if you wish, about yourself. An email is then sent to you containing a link to activate your account. Once you have activated your account you are free to login whenever you wish.
If you have any problems with registration email Neil (link on the left menu).

| Login |
If you have registered and activated your account by return email then select Login on the left menu and enter your username and password.
If you check Remember Me you will remain logged in to the site if you should leave it. (In order to use this feature cookies must be enabled on your browser and this cookie must not be deleted.)
If you forget your username or password click on the I forgot my password link to have your username and password emailed to you again.

| Home |
This option returns you to the Gould Gallery Home page irrespective of where you are in the site.

| Category Index |
This option will show you the album index for the category (eg. Travel, Family) you are currently in, with a link to each album in that category.
If you are not currently viewing an album this option takes you to the Gould Gallery Home page.

| Comments |
This feature shows the latest comments entered into the Gould Gallery for individual photos from any album.
Registered users can create a comment for any picture by entering the comment in the appropriate box below the picture. You can also add any of the provided emoticons (smilies) if you wish.

| Ratings |
This feature shows the top rated photos as rated by users, showing the average rating for each photo rated.
The ratings go from  (best) to  (worst).
Registered users can rate any photo while viewing it by choosing a rating in the appropriate section below it.

| My Favorites |
This feature shows a user their list of nominated favourite photos from the Gould Gallery.
To make a picture a favourite while viewing it, click on the Display/hide photo information link (), then scroll down to the picture information table below the picture and click the Add to Favourites link. (In order to use this feature cookies must be enabled on your browser and the cookie created must not be deleted.)

| Search |
This feature allows a user to search for specific photos in the Gould Gallery.
Only photos that have titles and descriptions are searched and the results displayed on the screen as a thumbnail index. You can then click on any thumbnail to go to the photo.
